I don't think Luke & Lorelai necessarily need to get married. They were engaged in season 6 and lived together and it was pretty much a disaster: all the spark went out of their relationship and they stopped communicating.
It would be perfectly nice if they indulged in a serious relationship (no cheating!), without worrying about any lifetime commitments. They can buy the house that Luke originally planned on buying when they were engaged, but this time without doing it secretly. They discuss everything openly (fueled by caffeine). Moving into the new house gives them a fresh start.

I'm not so sure about that. I love Lorelai's house and I don't think they should move out of it........they just need a fresh start and I think marriage would give them that opportunity!!

The problem with them staying in Lorelai's house is just that: it's Lorelai's house. I think they would be better off in a new place that is truly their house.
But no matter where they live, i hope they will communicate better than when they were engaged in season 6. That is the main thing they need to improve if they are going to be happy together in the long run. Luke already apologized for the way he handled the April situation, and that was a big step.
By the way, i wonder whatever happened to Paul Anka? The dog seemed to fade out of the story in the final episodes. Maybe he should decide where they will live. Dogs rule.

Yeah dogs are awesome!! I can see where you are coming from when you say they need to start fresh and find a place of THEIR own....but I'm just not ready to see them move out of Lorelai's house. I love that house!!

Hmmm... maybe you and your dog can rent the house from Lorelai. She and Luke and Paul Anka (and maybe their new child) can visit you any ol' time.

haha.....that's funny!! Well I wonder if Rory would take over and own the house while Luke and Lorelai see how things work out in the big house Luke was going to get for them. If things don't work out there, it's always good to have a backup plan. But bingbong since we are having so much debate about this......why don't you write a paragraph or two about how you think the next season should start and then I will write mine! Deal??

But bingbong since we are having so much debate about this......why don't you write a paragraph or two about how you think the next season should start and then I will write mine! Deal?? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, you're on... Rory would be on the campain trail, living her dream as a reporter. She would be struggling to get good news stories and meeting new people. She would have a rough time, being less experienced than the other reporters, but Rory is used to being the underdog (remember Chilton) and will do very well. Also, she will meet a NEW GUY on the campaign trail. They have a lot in common (both journalists) and - unlike Logan - the new guy is not some rich spoiled guy. He's more down to earth and funny and drinks plenty of coffee. He is a more experienced reporter and it begins with him helping her along and a romance develops. As for Luke & Lorelai, they will not repeat the mistakes they made when they were previously engaged. They will communicate openly with their usual crazy banter. They will be happy as boyfriend/girlfriend and eventually move into their new house together. (They will rent out Lorelai's house to... Kirk and Lulu! That gives Kirk a chance to finally move away from his mother. ) Lorelai will get pregnant and they will decide to get married before she gives birth, so it will be more "proper". Emily will try to control the wedding plans, but Lorelai will have a say about that. Well, how's that for a "start"? Your turn!!

We are seeing eye to eye on the whole Rory situation!!
Luke and Lorelai:
They have been through many struggles in their relationship, but they both know that they are meant for each other! They will move in to Lorelai's house as boyfriend/girlfriend and start fresh. Once Lorelai gets pregnant, they will rent out the house to Lane and Zach who are already expecting a baby. Rory's room will still be there that way Rory can always come to her home and hang out with her bestest friend in the whole wide world. As for Lorelai and Luke, they will finally get the new house Luke had wanted for them and settle down. Lorelai starts making the wedding plans with the help of Sookie and Rory and a few other people. Then Paris and Emily team up and decide what they think the wedding should be like. Conflict is imposed as Lorelai, Sookie and Rory are not seeing eye to eye with Paris and Emily. Rory and Paris get in a fight about the guy Rory is seeing (no name for right now) and Rory finally figures out that that was Paris' old crush from Chilton. Although Rory had no clue because she had never seen this boy before. Lorelai's relationship will be tested during this battle with her mother. Things will be said and actions will be inflicted that can never be taken back. What is going to happen on the wedding day? Will it be the simple elegant yet classy wedding that Lorelai, Sookie, and Rory are planning? Or will it be the expensive over the top non-Lorelai wedding that Emily has been planning secretly as if it were her own wedding all over again?? Will disaster strike?? You'll just have to wait and see!
I'm glad we are seeing eye to eye on the Rory situation! How's the other one for a start??? lol this is so much fun. Maybe we should get people to vote on which "Lorelai" situation they like better! What do you think about that?

Interesting that, like me, you also seem to want Rory to meet a new guy. Most people want her back with Logan. I say, time to move on! And you have Lane preggers again? Ok, she got pregnant the first time after having sex exactly once. So, she and Zach have sex a second time and.... preggers again. Wow, that's rough on Lane but i think it will work. I have to admit, i think i prefer your Lorelai situation! I wonder if season 7 would have been better if you wrote it. I still prefer my idea about the house but i'll let that one go. I notice we both have them getting married and having a kid. I say they have a son, for the new experience of Lorelai raising a boy and dealing with those issues. It also occurred to me that Lorelai might have to give up coffee while preggers, because of the caffeine. Yikes, that right there is something. I can imagine her terrorizing Luke as she goes through caffeine withdrawal. I especially like your battle of Paris/Emily against the others. Those two would be brutal together! But the thing about Rory and Sookie is that they are very sweet but when push comes to shove they can more than hold their own. We should remember that Paris is supposed to be at Harvard Medical School and with Doyle and technically should be busy with that. But i suppose she is such a multi-tasker that she can manage it. Your situation where Rory's new guy happens to be Paris' old crush is a good one. I can imagine Paris objecting "on principle", even if it was years ago. Paris never seems to change, so it would make sense. I'm sure the peeps in Star's Hollow would want to get involved and would side with Rory/Sookie about the wedding. Miss Patty would probably have some crazy ideas for entertainment at the wedding reception. And we know that Kirk announced himself in the finale as "Town Sash Maker" (made from his mother's nightie), so perhaps he'd make a wedding sash. I think Richard would step in at some point and maybe put a lasso on Emily. He might still be in his "sentimental" mood after recovering from the heart attack (remember his sweet comments to Lorelai at the party in the finale). What do you think of my additions? Let's hear it! And maybe more details on Rory's love life.

Now i know all you think Rory should meet a new guy but i object
I think Rory should be off in her campainy journalist thing and have fun...but relaize something is missing in her life. She goes home and sees her mom and luke trying to work out what they couldn't get through before and she realizes that the thing missing is Logan!! Lorelia knows that this is how Rory really feels and tells her to go to him. So she gets on a plane and goes to Cali. She can't seem to find him, and she asks his co-workers and they say that he's been off his game latley he can't seem to focus. Bobby (the female "i am just going to the loo" girl) tells rory that logan can't stop talking about her (rory). She asks there where he is and when she finds him she runs to him saying "I love you and can't be without you!" He runs to her and it is all happy they make up and agree to be engaged but not get married for a little while (till their older) Lor and Luke come to Cali for a few months and they all have a fabulous time Now i know this is a little far fetch but isn't that what a dream season is supposed to be?? Logan is right for her no doubt.

I cannot deny you your dream of Rory & Logan together, but i will stick with lorelailovr1043 in giving Rory a new guy. For starters, Rory is not just having fun as a reporter on the campaign. This is her dream. From the beginning of the show she has wanted to be a journalist and i cannot see her putting that aside for Logan or anyone else. I think a true Gilmore Girl has to follow her own path. That's what Lorelai did as a teenager when she left the life of luxary with Richard & Emily and went off and made her own life. My plan for Logan is a little different than yours. You won't like it, sorry! He moves to California and is depressed over losing Rory. He starts to plant an avocado tree in her honor but it is by a cliff and he slips and falls off and SPLAT that is the end of Logan! ;D Hey, i said you would not like it!

hey everyone! i'm glad that teh fan fic section is working out well, i was doubtful of my idea at first, but since i've been gone a few days, i see that alot of recent posts have been here, so i just wanted to say that i can't wait to read what everyone writes, instead of jsut throwing out ideas though, the idea is to actually write more of a storyline, or something along the lines of a script for the show, so anyone who writes about l/l i can't wait to read it!
