I sent a couple of PMs to members at the dot org site. Maybe something will come of it. By the way, to lorelailovr1043 and maddie sue, the two "princesses" I hope you don't mind that i am a guy and live in CA. I just happen to love GG and as a male i am not afraid to admit it (although i take heat from some of my friends). My girlfriend introduced me to the show. We broke up since then, but i never stopped loving the show.

To lorelailovr1043 and maddie sue - I got ambitious and wrote a few scenes. The first few involve L&L, the next ones involve Rory and New Guy. These are only outlines and feel free to change them around as you like. But i wanted to share with you. Darn, i could not find a place for Pendleton Lot in the scenes! Evening in Star's Hollow. Rory left in the morning to begin her reporter job for the Iowa on-line newspaper, covering the Barak Obama campaign. Lorelai is happy for her but feeling blue about her daughter leaving. She has just wrapped things up at the inn, glad her job kept her mind occupied. She stops by Luke's Diner. The usual crowd is in the diner and Luke sees Lorelai is feeling down. He reminds her that Rory is living out her dream, the same dream that Lorelai always wanted for her and she will be back in town to visit soon enough. Lorelai appreciates his words and to help herself feel better orders a burger with extra meat, extra tomato, extra onion and extra pickles. Hold the lettuce. Luke happily takes her order. They make chit-chat but are both thinking about the previous night at Rory's big farewell party when they kissed. It is clear from the way they are looking at each other what they are thinking about. Miss Patty strolls by and says she likes Lorelai's necklace (the one Luke gave her) and asks where she got it. Lorelai says it is just some old thing she had laying around. She and Luke exchange knowing glances. They agree to go out to dinner the next night. Miss Patty joins Babette and they grin in L&L's direction. At dinner, Luke brings up the mistakes he made last year when they were engaged and he tried to keep April separate. He says that won't happen again. He says she & April are the two most important people in his life. Lorelai teasingly questions that statement and reminds him of the guy who supplies the hamburger meat at the diner. And the guy who supplies the buns. And the guy who supplies the coffee beans. And the people in Columbia who import the coffee. Luke pretends to revise his list and lowers her rank and Lorelai pretends to be hurt. Lorelai says she is looking forward to making up for lost time with Luke and he agrees. They begin telling each other that they feel destined to be together but the special moment is interrupted by their waiter, Kirk, who suggests various wines that might go with their meal. He stumbles over the names of the wines and walks away defeated. L&L do not complete their moment but the feelings remain and they have a special night together (could a baby boy be on the way???). About one month later, Lorelai has missed her period. She decides that she won't say anything to Luke until she has taken a pregnancy test. She goes to a store in town to buy one, sees Kirk behind the counter, and walks right out. She keeps bumping into Star's Hollow peeps & imagines they all know about it, but of course they don't. She drives to a store out of town and buys a bunch of tests. She goes home and they all give the same result. After panicking, she starts to think it over, talking to herself in a mirror, and realizes she is ok with the idea, maybe it's meant to be. She goes to see Luke with the news. He is in the back of the diner, putting away buns. Lorelai in her nervousness tells Luke there is already one bun in the oven. He asks her how many cups of coffee she has had. She replies she might need something a bit stronger. She tells him that she is preggers and is happy about it. At first Luke is stunned and unable to complete full sentences. He begins losing breathe but she helps him with breathing exercises. He accidentally sits on the buns and crushes them. He finally calms down and realizes it is good news. He looks at her stomache and immediately begins thinking about all the things she needs to be doing, taking it easy, eating healthier, cutting out caffeine, etc, etc. This actually relieves Lorelai; she knows he will be a good dad. They agree to keep it a secret for a couple of months, to be sure all is well with her and the baby health-wise. They will tell Rory the news but no one else. ------------------------------------ Rory is in a hotel lobby, finishing writing her first campaign story on her laptop. There is a lot of activity in the lobby and she is struggling to finish in time to catch the campaign bus for the media. She checks her watch and quickly throws her stuff together and runs onto the bus. The feeling is that the other reporters pay her little attention. When she is noticed at all, they look at her and think "what's this kid doing here?" Rory struggles not to be intimidated. On the bus she overhears one of the reporters talking on his cell phone. It is clear that he is talking to his editor about work but they are also friendly and Rory overhears mention of a former girlfriend who just won't go away. Rory notices the guy is young and good-looking but also seems to have some experience on the job. She thinks he looks vaguely familiar (from Chilton, which she does not remember). After he hangs up the phone she hesitates to say something, and he receives another phone call. It becomes obvious his former girlfriend is on the line. He tells her to move on already, he needs to get back to work, etc. Rory is more intrigued now but as she starts to speak to him, someone else jumps in and talks to this New Guy. The scene ends with Rory thoroughly distracted by the guy. Rory has just finished an interview between Barak Obama's campaign manager and a group of reporters. She has not been able to get one of her own questions into the session. We can see she will have a story to report but she wanted to be more involved in getting a good quote. She takes a moment to sit down and gather her composure. The New Guy sits down nearby, writing notes on a pad, but he is fully aware of Rory's presence. He suddenly advises her to speak up more, be more agressive if she wants to get anywhere. Rory is surprised by his comments and stutters a reply that she is still finding her way. He tells her the best way to find her way is to jump in. She can tell he means well and is trying to be friendly, maybe something more. His cell rings, he looks at the # on the phone and ignores it. Rory asks if that was one of his "loyal readers" and he says it's one of his ex-girlfriends, who is more" loyal" as an ex than she was as a girlfriend. He appears annoyed by thinking of her, then says how she cheated on him but at the same time tried to be very controlling. He says it did not help that he has done so much traveling, as a reporter. Rory says she is excited by the idea of traveling. She mentions the guy she broke up with recently, how he had a plan all laid out for the both of them, but she felt like she had to go her own way. The New Guy finds this very interesting and says he respects her decision, that it took guts. They go on like this for a few more minutes, then they each have to rush off to something else, but the connection has been made.

...the one thing is, should L&L have the baby before marriage or after? should they get married b/c the baby or wait? ... I'm leaning towards the marriage first, then the baby afterwards, but want to know what you think. The really interesting question is how the pregnancy will play into their marriage decision! I'm sure we can figure that out.

But it is a pickle.

But you're right, it's Luke. If he is not her true love, then no one is. Hopefully, the sour marriage with Chris won't turn her off to the whole idea. I don't think it will, because what really ruined her marriage with Chris was Lorelai's feelings for Luke! I guess the most important thing is that they are happy together, married or not. They should decide to marry if it is truly because they want to commit for a lifetime, not because they feel obligated. Oy with the drama already!

Oh that is so awesome! And no I don't mind that you are a guy....you are just unique like that because a lot of guys would be embarrased to admit that! Just like you said in the story outline when Rory is on the bus talking to the new guy: That takes a lot of guts! I love the story outline....we need to come up with 2 titles for the episodes. I do think that Lorelai does need to get pregnant the way you suggested. They should just tell Rory! But how about this....you know how when Sookie was pregnant and she was freaking out all the time and Lorelai and Sookie both figured out that she was pregnant. They kind of have that telepathic feeling soo...what I was thinking is after Lorelai is already 2 weeks pregnant...Sookie recognizes that Lorelai has not been acting right: She has refused to drink coffee all week! She finally figures out and the two of them giggle and talk about it. Lorelai says how hard it was for her to keep it a secret from her. Then in a later episode Sookie can accidentally spill the beans to Jackson who begins to spread the word!
As for Rory and the New Guy...I am guessing that the annyoyingly loyal ex is Paris! I love how she meets him and as of right now I don't have any suggestions to make!
Love how you used my quote: "Oy with the drama already!"
You know for a guy....you really do know your stuff when it comes to Gilmore Girls! I'm impressed!! Well since we are all introducing ourselves.... I am 14 (well I will be tomorrow!!!) and I live in Virgina! Me and maddie sue are not far apart in age...her birthday is a few days before mine and she also lives in Virgina. Except....we don't know each other either!
TOMORROW IS MY LAST DAY OF SCHOOL AND IT IS ALSO MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!I AM SO EXCITED!!!!

I love how she meets him and as of right now I don't have any suggestions to make! First of all, happy birthday! Not too shabby, ending school & celebrating with a birthday. That's funny that you both are from Virginia. I assume the Virginia connection is also one more reason to like Lauren Graham. I grew up in New York City but now live in sunny Southern California and I love it. I think we were on the same wavelength with the idea of Sookie noticing Lorelai's changed behavior. Gotta love that. I have a different idea of how the town finds out. Sookie can tell Jackson and he might accidentally let little hints out, but I figure the other nosy peeps in Star's Hollow will also observe things about Lorelai. For example, people could notice Luke doting on Lorelai (helping her walk & sit down, which will incidentally drive Lor crazy though she will also love it) and someone like Babette might see her come out of a doctor's office; and Luke will otherwise act strangely when asked about Lorelai; things like that. Wild rumors will start about Lorelai's health: is she sick, does she have some terminal illness? Lorelai will in turn notice strange behavior towards her from other people, not knowing what they are thinking. Finally, at a town meeting, Taylor could bring up the subject in an off-hand way, and in the craziness of the meeting Lorelai will let it out that she is preggers. After the initial roar of the crowd, they will pause and confirm that the father is indeed Luke. This will cause even greater uproar. Sookie will be relieved that the word is out and she can let truly loose with her ideas to help Lorelai. In the excitement she calls Emily for an opinion about something, who of course knows nothing about it, and you can guess Emily's reaction... About Paris being the New Guy's ex-girlfriend, i honestly did not think of that! I don't know if it would make sense, because Paris is still with Doyle, and why would Paris be bugging him after all these years? I just thought it was a way to get Rory curious and have something in common, because she also broke up with someone recently. And Rory would think he looks familiar because of the Chilton connection from back in the day. If you think this could really work & make sense, please let me know. We might also think about Lane & Zach. I think lorelai1043 previously suggested that poor Lane gets preggers again! Yikes! Don't tell Lane about that... Hope you enjoy your big day!

Yeah I totally like your idea better of how the news is found out. I love how Emily finds out!! Oy, with the drama already!! HAHA!! Well regarding how Pendleton Lot would fit into this....I think that earlier in an episode Lorelai should get a call from Pendleton Lot (this is before Lorelai gets preggers...lol that is the first time I have actually used the word "preggers" but you use it a lot bingbong!) Anyways Pendleton wants to see the town and wants to know good sites and restaurants to visit. It's kind of like a small trip into the wacky town of Stars Hollow. So Lorelai of course tells her that she MUST come see the Dragonfly Inn, Luke's Diner, and some other giftshops in town. Well one day Lorelai walks into Luke's Diner after she gets pregnant and she sees Pendleton Lot there sitting at a table eating food by herself. (Her husband got sick and couldn't make it) Well of course Pendleton notices that Lorelai's stomach is sticking out and not because she has gotten bigger, but because she is pregnant! So of course they get to talking and this is what I think should happen. Why not instead of Sookie calling Emily...why don't we let Pendleton! Remember when Lorelai was getting married and she didn't bother to tell Emily and she eventually found out from Sookie...well I think we should mix it up a little bit, you know? So anyways Pendleton calls Emily for the first time in a year...and tells her how happy she is for Lorelai and that she knows Emily must be bouncing off the walls. Emily will act all casual and excited like she has know for days. Then when she hangs up the phone.....poor Richard won't know what's coming. HAHA! How does that sound for drama?? As for Paris and the New Guy....well maybe the calls can just be from an ordinary ex like you said. But at some point I think he needs to recieve a call from Paris after Rory and him have spent some time together. Rory will go back and tell Paris about this wonderful guy she has met and Paris will realize it was her "ex" from Chilton. Then more drama will occur when the New Guy gets an unexpected call from Paris. What do you think?? We definitely need to get an outline rolling for Lane and Zach sometime or another....I'm just really busy right now preparing for tomorrow and sending out PMs to a lot of members of this board. Thanks for wishing me a Happy Birthday!!! I can't wait till tomorrow!!! My friend and I are going to the pool after school....uhhhh... you gotta love those lazy hazy crazy summer days! Well of course you know what I'm talking about because....hello you live in one of the sunshine states (besides Florida) and there must be plenty of pools there! Talk to you tomorrow!

Your idea of Pendleton Lot telling Emily about Lorelai's prenancy is the bomb. We gotta go with that. And i have to give you props for working ol' Pendy into the fabric of the story. Yes, i like the idea of Paris making a call to her ex, who happens to be New Guy. We'll work out those details. I will also try to come up with something between Emily & Richard. Those two are never boring. Be sure to invite dear ol' Pendy to the pool for your birthday! Poor gal needs a new friend.

Ok great! Oh yeah I know Pendy definitely needs to be at the pool tomorrow!! Maybe I will call her...do you have her number?? LOL! I know I am just good like that! (working ol' Pendy into the story) As soon as you come up with something between Emily and Richard let me know!! ;D I'm supposed to go to bed now.....but I just can't! Too much drama and writing going on! When I find the time....I am going to make a HUGE outline and get it to you and maddie sue with all of the ideas we are going with put in there. This is going to be so much fun.....but we still need MORE people to join!!

(Her husband got sick and couldn't make it) Well of course Pendleton notices that Lorelai's stomach is sticking out and not because she has gotten bigger, but because she is pregnant! So of course they get to talking and this is what I think should happen. Why not instead of Sookie calling Emily...why don't we let Pendleton... As i said yesterday, i love this idea! The only detail that might not make sense: Why wouldn't Emily have already noticed Lorelai's stomache, prior to Pendleton noticing? They are still seeing each other regularly. So, maybe Pendy could be in Luke's Diner and overhear someone talking about it. This would be before Lorelai's tummy starts "showing". The sequence of wacky events would now be: Rumors fly in Star's Hollow about Lorelai's health, until her pregnancy is revealed at the town meeting; Pendleton Lot visits Star's Hollow & overhears about Lorelai's pregnancy; Pendy calls Emily with the news. I outlined a scene, which begins with Emily receiving the pregnancy news from Pendy. lorelailovr1043 and maddie sue: please let me know what you think! Pendleton Lot calls Emily on the phone to congratulate her about Lorelai's pregnancy. Emily acts as if she already knew and keeps a tough attitude throughout the conversation, pretending to be so proud of the coming blessed event. Pendleton wonders if Lorelai and Luke will get married, because this is the "proper" thing to do. Emily, fists clenched, assures ol' Pendy that it will indeed all turn out "properly". After hanging up the phone, her guard drops and she is miserable. She considers a drink but instead slumps in a chair. Richard comes in and, seeing her condition, asks what is wrong. Emily says sarcastically that "your old friend Pendleton Lot" called with exciting news. Seems Lorelai is pregnant and everyone on the planet knows about it except her own parents. Richard is amazed by the news and momentarily hurt, but he is still in his "emotional" frame of mind from his heart attack, where he gets misty over everything. He chokes up and tells Emily to think of the bigger picture, that they will have a new grandchild and it is cause for celebration. Lorelai will tell them in due time. Emily snaps that they cannot celebrate something they don't "officially" even know about. Richard pours them each a glass of champagne for a toast, but she refuses. She says she is going to "officially" receive the news from Lorelai. She gets in her car and drives to Star's Hollow. She goes to the Dragonfly Inn, where Lorelai is discussing doilies with sarcastic Michel. Lorelai is surprised to see Emily and asks what she is doing there. Emily smiles wickedly and says she just happened to be in the neighborhood and thought she would say hello to her only daughter. Emily sarcastically says her cable connection went out and she has not been able to keep up with the world news lately. She wonders if Lorelai can fill her in. Lorelai gets it and tries to explain about the baby (as Michel slinks away!). Emily's sarcasm continues until Lorelai, after feeling guilty initially, gets angry and tells Emily not to spoil everything. As their conversation gets more heated, Lorelai suddenly clutches her stomache in pain. Emily helps her to a chair. Sookie sees and rushes to help. Sookie snaps at Emily not to upset Lorelai, and the two of them start to go at it. Lorelai brings their squabble to a halt but now Sookie and Emily are at odds. After everyone calms down, Emily apologizes to Lorelai for upsetting her. She tries to hint that she is hurt and angry, but to no avail. Emily leaves, still trying to keep a tough exterior, but feeling thoroughly guilty for upsetting her preggers daughter. After Emily leaves, Lorelai quickly brightens up. She tells Sookie that she faked the stomache pain and never felt better. She just wanted to foil the guilt trip Emily was dumping on her. She and Sookie have a good laugh over the "power" of her pregnancy.

lorelailovr1043, maddie sue & whoever else:
I outlined a scene that mixes Rory & New Guy getting closer, with Lorelai informing Rory about the pregnancy, and paving the way for Lorelai to discuss her future with Luke. Again, just an outline, so throw in your suggestions!
Lorelai calls Rory to tell her she is pregnant. When she calls, Rory is talking breezily with New Guy. They are jammed in a mob of reporters who are waiting to go into a press conference, and she is barely able to move her arm to put the phone to her ear, but she is clearly having herself a fine time. After a little chit-chat, Lorelai says she has big news and Rory better sit down to hear it. Rory explains that would be impossible because of the mob surrounding her. They debate the merits of sitting versus not sitting in their usual manner while Rory exchanges goofy looks with New Guy, who is amused by the conversation. Lorelai finally tells her she is pregnant with Luke's baby and how happy she and Luke are about it. Rory reacts similarly to Luke when he first heard, stuttering and having trouble finishing sentences. New Guy gets concerned but Rory indicates it's ok. After more conversation, Rory asks Lorelai what it all means. Lorelai is confused by the question and Rory says she means between her and Luke. They are having a child together - does this mean they will get married, or just live together or what? Lorelai does not have a clear answer and gets flustered, embarrassed that she has not really thought about it or discussed it with Luke. Rory reassures her that it will be fine no matter what, but it seemed natural to bring up. They exchange heart-felt goodbyes and promise to speak again soon. On Lorelai's end, she thinks more about the idea of marriage and decides to discuss the options with Luke. On Rory's end, she is stunned by the news. She starts to feel claustrophobic from the crowd and thinks it is now time to sit down. New Guy sees her starting to sweat and guides her out of the crowd, to a nearby bench. She gives New Guy details of the news. Talking about it helps her feelings become clearer and she realizes how great the news really is. She will have a new brother or sister. Her mom and Luke are very much together. They eventually go into the press conference, but she has other things on her mind. Afterwards, New Guy offers to buy her a drink to celebrate (coffee won't do for this news). It's crowded and they drink standing at the bar, unable to find a seat. Rory thanks New Guy for being so understanding and being a good listener. New Guy says that being a good listener is important for being a good reporter. Rory points out that it's also important to be a good observer. New Guy asks Rory if she observes what he is feeling. They exchange glances and kiss. They kiss again and the scene ends.
