ok...you got me! I don't speak with a southern accent but I might have a tidbit of country in my voice...well sometimes. I still think Virginia is one of the top 5 southern states. After all we are the "moonshine capital of the world"

When i first moved to CA, people recognized my "Noo Yawk" accent immediately. But now my accent has changed enough so people only think i am from somewhere on the east coast, but they can't pin it down. And when i talk to my NY friends on the phone, i notice their accents and it sounds weird. I sometimes wonder if they always sounded that way!

Well I can't say "breakfast" right...the way I say it makes it sound like "brakfeast" lol! My family and some of my friends make fun of my all the time when I say that. So I do have a little bit of a country accent!

Maybe it makes sense to pronounce it brakfeast. It's a meal, so it could be a feast if you eat enough!
A still pronounce certain words with a NY accent. For example, i pronounce water as "wauduh". At a restaurant, i "awduh wauduh".

i 've lived in virginia for most my life....but people say i have a sorta brooklyn accent, because i used to live in west palm beach...the new york of the south!... ha ha, i am trying to imagine a cross between a Brooklyn accent and a FL-southern accent. Just not happening!! ;D About Alexis speaking Spanish, when Ellen Degeneres visited the GG set, she had Alexis translate the conversation as they went along. Alexis did a good job! It was funny hearing her familiar Rory voice in Spanish.
